The Garden of the Month for October is located at 601 S.E.Central Avenue in Amite, La. The Stem & Stamen Garden Club has selected the yard of Michelle & Houston Dock. The bright yellow house with a white picket fence has a large variety of plants which include: Pink Mandevilla climbing the front porch post and Yellow Mandevilla on the front archway. The sidewalk is lined with Liriope, Bronze Beauty Cleyera and Purple Loropetalum. When driving by, please also notice the beautiful Boston Ferns and Crepe Myrtles in the front and side of the house.

January and February in South Louisiana have been unusually cold and wet. Now that Spring is finally approaching, the Stem and Stamen Club of Amite would like to share with you the Prayer Garden at the United Methodist Church, located on Duncan Avenue in Amite, La. Although, this picture was taken last spring, I am sure the devoted gardeners will have the garden this beautiful in no time. Stem and Stamen Garden Club of Amite has chosen the home of Mary Lou and Jon
Carl Hammons, at 60200 Anderson Lane, as the April 2014 Garden of the Month.
The beautiful home is nestled among tall pine trees and surrounded by George
Taber Azaleas with pink springtime blooms that are so plentiful and have a
light smell of perfume. The landscape is adorned with Red Leaf Maple trees, an
abundance of ornamental grass and Agapanthus.

The Stem & Stamen of Amite has chosen the home of Melanie and Rev. David Melville, at 802 North Duncan Ave. as the May 2014 Garden of the Month. Melanie has worked tirelessly making their home a charming sanctuary. The fragrant smell of Jasmine in the air along with the flowering Foxgloves, Snapdragons and Blue Salvia (not even to mention the gorgeous azalea's) adorn their landscape.

The Stem and Stamen Garden Club of Amite chose the beautiful home of Donna and Brennan Kelsey, located at 15276 Hwy 16 East in Amite, as the June 2014 Garden of the Month. Donna and Brennan have done an outstanding job of landscaping their home with Lantana, Knock Out Roses, Loropetalum, Azaleas, Crepe Myrtles and large Japanese Red Maple trees along with an abundance of Boston Ferns that adorn the southern style porches on the home. Donna has continued her beautiful landscaping in the rear of the home surrounding the lush swimming pool area.
We wish to commend Donna and Brennan for the excellent job they have done and their lovely home proves their dedication.

The Stem and Stamen Garden Club has selected the lovely yard of Robby Chadwick, at 1904 N Duncan Avenue. You will see many varieties of Lantana, large Holly trees, Crepe Myrtle, Magnolia, Knockout Roses, Agapanthus, Sago Palms, Variegated Ginger, Butterfly bushes, Lorapelum.

The Stem and Stamen Garden club as chosen the home of Michael and Julia Sumrall,at 604 N Second Street, as garden of the month. Proud to show off their great yard, they are most proud of their beautiful new baby, Michael Don. He is a real cutie!
The Sumralls have put a lot of hard work into the landscape of their front yard. Drive by and you will see Vinca, beautiful yellow Canna Lillies, Impatients, Marigolds, Begonias, Rose tree, Crepe Myrtle and Carolina Jasmine.

The home of Mary and John Morgan, at 306 Walnut Street, as been chosen as Garden of the Month, for September, by the Stem and Stamen Garden Club. Mary has done a marvelous job creating a beautiful garden. She has chosen a large variety of plants. Wonderful Wood Ferns, Split Leaf Philodendrom, Day Lillies, Knockout Roses, Pink Sasanqua, Japanese Red Maple, Hydrangea, Hostas, Caladiums, Sweet Olive. So drive by and enjoy the view.
